John Charles “Jack” Anthony

John Charles “Jack” Anthony, 91 years old, passed away in the UVA Medical Center, Friday, June 27, 2008. Mr. Anthony was born June 11, 1917 in Claysville, Pa. to Charles Anthony and Lulu Pearl Anthony; served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy and the Coast Guard Volunteer Port Security; was a member of the American Legion Post 330, the Sons of the American Revolution, the National Genealogy Association, the Silver Seniors Group of Culpeper and a former leader in the Boy Scouts.

Surviving Mr. Anthony is his wife, Cornelia “Connie” Taylor Anthony of Culpeper; his children, Charles Thomas Anthony of Manassas Park, Julia Taylor Anthony of Glen Field, N.Y. and Elizabeth Anthony Wright and her husband Timothy of Manassas; his grandchildren, Timothy and Jillian Wright of Manassas; his niece and nephew, Linda Fisher of Kenmore, N.Y. and Dr. Jack Fisher and his wife Patricia of California. His parents and his sister Catherine A. Fisher precede Mr. Anthony in death.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Clore-English Funeral Home, 11190 James Monroe Highway, Culpeper, Virginia with Dr. Glendora B. Taylor conducting the service. Interment will be in the Culpeper National Cemetery, 501 East Chandler Street, Culpeper, Virginia 22701 with military honors provided by the American Legion Post 330 and V.F.W. Post 2524 Honor Guards. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 1, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Clore-English Funeral Home.
