Culpeper Police launch new email tip address

The Culpeper Police Department is excited to announce the release of a new way for the public to submit anonymous crime tips. We are aware that there are many community members willing to provide helpful information to our detectives regarding open investigations. In an effort to offer greater access and ease of communication, the public can now submit tips to the email address of

This is not and should not be used as a replacement for 911 or reporting crimes to 540-727-7900. This email address is an additional mechanism that can be used to provide information to detectives investigating open cases in the Town of Culpeper. Crime tips are important to all police investigations and the public can be an extra set of eyes and ears.

“It’s crucial for someone to notify law enforcement if they see a crime being committed or even something suspicious,” Chief Chris Jenkins said. “We can’t have eyes everywhere so the more eyes we have out in the public, the better we can solve crimes or even prevent crimes.”

The Culpeper Police Department always asks that you report any information you may have about a crime because you never know if you have what they need to solve it.

“If someone witnesses a crime, it’s important for them to call in because they might provide an angle or that missing piece of the puzzle,” Chief Jenkins said. “Even if we’ve already received several tips, someone might have that missing piece of the puzzle that we can use to solve the crime.”

This tip line will be checked frequently, but will not be monitored 24 hours a day. We ask that if you are experiencing an emergency that you please call 911. Tips are still anonymous and this does not replace the option of contacting Crime Solvers at 540-727-0300.
