The Culpeper Police Department arrested a Culpeper woman following two incidents in April and May in downtown Culpeper.
Culpeper Police arrested Kelly M. Foy, 28, of the 700 block of First Street, June 26 on various charges related to incidents at Knakal’s Bakery and Culpeper Gold and Jewelry.
On April 20, the Culpeper Police Department responded to Knakal’s Bakery located at 146 E. Davis Street for a reported larceny. Employees of the bakery advised that a subject had come into the business and stolen the fundraiser jar that was sitting on the counter. Officers canvassed the area, but the suspect was not located.
On May 5, the Culpeper Police Department responded to Culpeper Gold and Jewelry located at 404 S. Main Street for a reported robbery. An employee at the business advised that a subject had come into the store and robbed the clerk of cash. The suspect then fled the area on foot. Officers canvassed the area, but the suspect was not located. Both cases were investigated by the Culpeper Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Section.
Foy has been charged with felony larceny for the incident at Knakal’s Bakery and charged with felony robbery for the incident at Culpeper Gold and Jewelry. Foy is being held without bond at the Culpeper County Jail.
“The Criminal Investigations Section is constantly following up on leads and information related to investigations,” Culpeper Police Department Chief Chris Jenkins said. “No tip or information is too small, if you see something, then say something. This information could be what is needed to solve an on-going case.”
