MAKING IT HAPPEN. Culpeper Renaissance Inc. held their annual CRI Volunteer Awards presentation in the upstairs loft at Piedmont Steakhouse Tuesday evening. The mood was festive, the food delicious, the bar open and smiles aplenty. Chairman Steve Miller shared appropriate sentiment, “Volunteers aren’t paid because they are worthless…it’s because they are priceless.”

The evening’s Champion award went to Jonathan (‘Johnny K’) Krawchuk, one of CRI’s most tireless volunteers and a board member since 2005. Grady Botens is a fair newcomer to Culpeper but “jumped right in” to work on the Pocket Park, Gnarly Hops, the bike show and more. Already a stalwart at CRI, it was announced that Jessica Jenkins is CRI’s new Executive Director. Pictured (l-r) Jessica Jenkins, Grady Botens, Johnny Krawchuk and Steve Miller.
