Sheriff’s summer camps a success

The Culpeper County Sheriff’s Office recently wrapped up the 5th Annual Scott H. Jenkins Summer Youth Sports Camps.  A special thank you to Sheriff Jenkins, his command staff, all the deputies and staff involved in this year’s camps.  Without the support from within the Sheriff’s Office these camps would not be the success that they are each year.

Since Sheriff Jenkins created these camps during his first year in office, they have continued to become larger and larger.  This year more than  450 children registered for football, soccer, and baseball/softball camps.  The Culpeper Soccer Club, Culpeper Football Association, Culpeper Little League, and Eastern View High School Athletics all played a significant role in the organization and planning of the camps.  It speaks volumes when local youth sports associations assist local law enforcement in the building and fostering of relationships with the youth of our community.  Thank you!

Special thanks to MD Russell Construction, Updyke Industries, Ed’s Engraving, George Bowels and all volunteers who assisted.  Thank you for your role in another successful round of summer camps.
