Letter: Save the State efforts continue

The Spirits of Christmas arenâ??t just on stage at the State Theatre. Last week two more businesses stepped forward to help Save the State. One with direct support and one through a percentage of sales.

Battlefield Automotive has bestowed a generous gift in the amount of $20,000 to the â??Save the Stateâ? fundraising campaign.

The Culpeper dealership states it wholeheartedly believes in the cultural and economic value of the State Theatre.

The State Theatre thanks Battlefield Automotive and Bella J Cucina (who gave a percentage of their sales from Dec. 18-20) for believing in their cause and supporting the local arts community. Coupled with the support from Shenandoah Garden Spot and other offers in process, Save the State organizers are confident that by years end they will have the funds to enact a solid business plan to restructure and restart operations in 2016.

We are ready to roll up our sleeves and get the work done so we can be a viable part of the cultural and economic development of this community.

Individuals can still donate to the State Theatreâ??s Save the State Campaign by going to www.savethestate.org or www.culpepertheatre.org and click on â??donate,â? mail or walk a donation in to 305 S. Main St. or call the State Theatreâ??s offices at 540-829-0293.
