Jamie Clancey announced April 15 that she will run for a seat on the Culpeper Town Council. If elected, Clancey will focus her efforts on improving resources for Culpeper families, adolescents, teens and young adults to foster a more engaged and successful community. She will also work to enhance collaboration and transparent communication between the Council and its constituents. Clancey also commits to the continued growth of Downtown Culpeper and supporting local small businesses.
â??Iâ??ve lived in Culpeper for nearly a decade and truly love this town,â? said Clancey, a licensed clinical social worker who owns her own counseling practice in Culpeper. â??The sense of community, tradition, and small town charm is what attracted my family to move here to raise our children. It is clear that Culpeper has evolved and has so much potential to offer its residences more resources and opportunities. I would be honored to serve on the Culpeper Town Council and play a role in creating the best environment possible that helps enables the success of every family here in town.â?
In addition to owning Clancey Counseling, LLC, a private counseling and life coaching practice, Clancey is actively involved in the local community as a member of the Board of Directors for Voices for Virginia’s Children, a non-profit agency that works to improve lives of Virginia’s children through advocacy. Clancey is also a member of the Board of Directors for Services to Abused Families (SAFE). Most recently, she joined the Board of Directors of the Culpeper Wellness Foundation and is working with a great team to fund grants directly associated with improving community resources. She also serves as a member of the planning committee for the annual Monte Carlo fundraiser for Germanna Community College in Culpeper and is an active member of the Culpeper Chamber of Commerce.
