The Culpeper County School Board announced last Wednesday evening the selection of three candidates to interview for the superintendent vacancy. The candidates selected for interviews are Dr. Anthony S. Brads, Fincastle, VA; Dr. Terri L. Breeden, Ashburn, VA; and Mr. Marc A. Bergin, Carthage, NC.
Interviews were conducted April 27-29. Numerous stakeholder groups will also have the opportunity to meet the final candidates and submit input to the Board regarding each finalist.
The Culpeper County School Board retained the services of McPherson & Jacobson L.L.C. to assist in conducting their search. The consultants screened and conducted background reviews of those applicants they believed most closely matched the characteristics established by the Board.
A total of 25 candidates expressed interest in the vacancy. Candidates were from 14 states and consisted of 19 males and 6 females. They included both former and current superintendents, assistant superintendents, a teacher, principal, a charter school administrator, and a member of the military. A final selection could be announced later this week.
