AARP SMART DRIVER COURSE

Seniors, refresh your driving skills on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 20-21: You will learn useful information to keep you safe on the road!

The course is designed to help you:

Update driving skills and your knowledge of the rules – and hazards – of the road.
Learn about normal age-related physical changes and how to adjust your driving to compensate.
Reduce your chances of receiving a traffic violation, getting into an accident, or becoming injured.
Get an insurance discount. Upon completion, you will receive a multi-year discount on your car liability insurance that is good for three years.

Highlights of the course:

The AARP Smart Driver Course is packed with useful information that you can put into practice immediately, including:

How to maintain a proper following distance.
The safest way to change lanes and make turns at intersections.
The effects of medications on driving.
Reducing driver distractions such as eating, smoking and cell phone use.

The two-day course will be held at the Culpeper Retirement Home, 12425 Village Loop, Culpeper, VA, from 9 AM to 1 PM each day. The cost is $15.00 for national AARP members and $20.00 for non-members.
