St. Stephens welcomes new members

The church has many opportunities to get involved, through ministries and groups. Men’s group, The Brotherhood of St. Andrew (BOSA), which meets Tuesdays at 7 a.m. in the parish hall for breakfast, prayer, discussion and fellowship. Daughters of the King (DOK), a group of women who meet on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month at 9 a.m. in the Gathering Room for prayer, study, support and ministry. Anyone is welcome. Blessing of the Animals offered

St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Culpeper invites everyone to the annual Blessing of the Animals service on Sunday, Oct. 6 at 5:00 p.m. on the church lawn. Pets will receive special blessings and healing prayers. Treats will be provided following the service. Properly restrain all animals and bring a bag for accident clean up. Culpeper Baptist Church MOPS and MOMS Next is accepting registrations for the 2013-2014 year. If you are a stay-at-home or working mom, single or married mom, older mom, grandma, or all of the above then our group will provide you support and friendship. “Barn Quilts and the American Quilt Trail Movement”

Suzi Parron will be at the Culpeper County Library on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 10:30 a.m. to speak about the barn quilt movement and share photographs of designs she has documented. A $5.00 donation is requested. Space is limited so please come early. Copies of Ms. Parron’s book will be available for sale and autographing. The Virginia Sports Hall of Fame & Museum is seeking nominations for the ninth Annual Hall of Fame Student Athlete Achievement Awards. These awards honor middle and high school students who demonstrate dedication on the field to their sport and off the field to their schoolwork and community.
