Fourteenth annual Fourth of July ‘Car and Bike Show’ set for Culpeper

You may not beat the heat this Fourth of July but you can certainly see some hot rods in downtown Culpeper.
The 4th of July Car and Bike Show will take place in historic Downtown Culpeper at Davis Street and the Depot. The event will start at 10:00 a.m. and includes custom, classic, and antique cars, hot rods, street rods, motorcycles, and trucks. The goal of the Culpeper Renaissance 4th of July Car and Bike Show is to provide free, family friendly entertainment by showcasing America’s love of cars and motorcycles on the day of America’s independence in a designated Great American Main Street community. There is no charge for spectators and vendors are on site selling items such as barbeque, ice cream, hamburgers etc. A deejay plays oldies and patriotic music throughout the day for all to enjoy.
Registration for participants is from 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Pre-registration is suggested. Judging begins at 10:00 a.m., and the Awards Presentation starts at 2:30 p.m. with more than 50 trophies awarded.
This year’s show salutes the cars of American Graffiti, with 2013 marking the 40th Anniversary of the release of American Graffiti. The cars of American Graffiti will be prominently displayed directly in front of the depot.
The State Theatre of Culpeper will offer a special showing of American Graffiti from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. for only $4 on the 4th of July. For further information on the State Theatre or to purchase tickets in advance visit www.culpepertheatre.org
