Culpeper Registrar’s office expands hours for absentee voting due to Hurricane Sandy

CULPEPER, VA – Don Palmer, Secretary of the State Board of Elections, has asked local electoral boards in localities impacted by Hurricane Sandy to extend absentee voting hours over the course of the remaining absentee period that ends on Saturday, November 3, 2012.

In response the Culpeper County Voter Registration office will have the following extended hours for the remainder of the week:

Wednesday October 31, 2012: Culpeper County Voter Registration will open at 8 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.
Thursday November 1, 2012: Culpeper County Voter Registration will open at 8 a.m. and close at 7p.m.
Friday November 2, 2012: Culpeper County Voter Registration will open at 8 a.m. and close at 5.pm.
Saturday November 3, 2012: Culpeper County Voter Registration will open at 8 a.m. and close at 5 p.m. – LAST DAY to vote absentee

To be eligible to vote absentee it is necessary to be registered to vote and meet one of the 19 qualifying absentee reasons. Please remember to bring an acceptable form of identification to the voter registration office if planning to vote absentee. As a reminder Saturday November 3 by 5 p.m. is the last day to vote in person absentee.
